Priority in the path
This node becomes especially important when conflict with others describes the actual situation.
What this is about
This calendar tracks daily practice of Middle Path skills: finding the synthesis between extremes in relational situations rather than defaulting to either compliance or opposition. The most important dimension to track is not whether one succeeded at finding the middle path, but whether one noticed when one was at an extreme — and what brought it on. Over time, the calendar reveals the situational patterns that consistently push toward extreme positions, which is the information needed to prepare for those situations in advance using Cope Ahead.
Step by step
Work through the steps at your own pace. For written exercises, you can use paper or a notebook.
- Make a row for each day and describe a situation with two opposing pulls.
- Name both sides concretely, such as overworking and complete avoidance.
- Record how you managed the tension between the two.
- Describe an action that takes legitimate concerns on both sides into account.
- At the end of the week, collect wise or effective actions you took.
