The orientation module ensures that participants have a shared understanding of the treatment logic before engaging with specific skill content, and that behavioral assessment tools are established early as a regular part of the treatment.",

In the manual, chain analysis follows a clear order: describe the problem behavior, identify the prompting event, name the vulnerability factors already present, reconstruct the links in as much detail as possible, and only then examine the consequences. Change work then adds replacement behaviors, prevention plans, and repair of important consequences. Missing-links analysis deepens the exact place where an effective step was absent. The clinically important stance is curious, exact, and nonpunitive. The most frequent error is focusing only on the dramatic endpoint and missing the smaller chain moments where a different outcome was still possible."
